Job Purpose
We are seeking a skilled MIG/TIG Welder to join our fabrication team. The successful candidate will be responsible for welding a range of metal components using MIG and TIG processes to produce high-quality, structurally sound welds in line with engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of welding techniques, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials, including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminium.
- Fabricate and assemble components according to engineering drawings and job specifications.
- Ensure welds meet quality and dimensional standards, performing visual inspections and basic testing as required.
- Set up and prepare welding equipment, including selecting appropriate consumables and machine settings.
- Work to tight tolerances while maintaining a clean and tidy finish.
- Interpret and follow technical drawings, work instructions, and welding symbols accurately.
- Assist with general fabrication duties including cutting, grinding, and fitting.
- Maintain welding equipment, identifying and reporting any faults or maintenance needs.
- Follow company health & safety policies and procedures, using appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, ensuring good housekeeping practices.
- Support continuous improvement and contribute ideas for improving processes and quality.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Experience with fabrication and fitting techniques
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and safety procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, grinders, and measuring equipment.
- Experience in welding to coded standards (advantageous).

Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Welding & Fabrication or equivalent (preferred).
Welding coding or certification (advantageous but not essential – training may be provided).
Forklift or overhead crane licence (desirable).
