Planning Team Leader

As the Planning Team Leader, you will lead a team that provides expert planning and project programming services to Project Managers and clients throughout all phases of major projects and infrastructure development, culminating in project completion. Your responsibilities will include guiding and developing a team, managing project delivery, and supporting our lifts business area.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 9 planners to ensure the successful delivery of planning activities and KONE goals.
  • Manage team performance, set objectives, and establish goals.

Planning Practices and Processes:

  • Develop and implement planning practices and processes for KONE Major Projects.
  • Create and manage programmes for unique and complex building projects in Central London.
  • Identify and manage program-related risks to support business objectives.

Project Delivery Support:

Ensure your team successfully performs duties including:

  • Producing and managing complex tender programmes.
  • Creating and controlling schedule baselines with fully linked logic, cost, and resource-loaded plans.
  • Collaborating with project teams to identify critical paths and minimize company risk.
  • Updating plans within agreed timeframes.
  • Coordinating and producing reports according to a defined reporting cycle.
  • Analyzing indicators and providing feedback on risks and opportunities.
  • Resource planning and workload scheduling to minimize contractual abatements.
  • Conducting regular site visits with Project Managers.
  • Liaising with contractors and site workers for daily updates.
  • Timely submission of baseline and site plans to meet contractual requirements.
  • Creating and monitoring KPIs and producing weekly/monthly dashboards and reports.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in team management and development.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Detailed understanding of planning and construction methodologies, techniques, site logistics, and phasing plans.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Experience in the lifts and construction industry is beneficial.
  • Ability to create tender programmes.
  • Strong negotiation, interpersonal, and persuasive skills.
  • Effective communication at all levels.
  • Understanding of contractual differences (NEC, JCT).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, A-site, Asta, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and SAP.
