A respected and expanding lift company is seeking an experienced Lift Repair Engineer to join its dedicated technical team. In this key role, you’ll carry out both planned and reactive repair work on a diverse range of lift systems, ensuring every unit meets the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance. You’ll play a vital part in maintaining the company’s reputation for technical excellence and outstanding customer service. This position offers the chance to work on varied, complex equipment while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking engineering team.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and complete repairs on passenger, goods, and platform lifts, delivering efficient, long-lasting solutions.

  • Replace worn or defective components in line with manufacturer and industry standards.

  • Undertake both planned repair projects (component replacements, upgrades) and reactive repair work following breakdowns.

  • Ensure all work is carried out in full compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations.

  • Produce accurate, detailed technical reports outlining findings and recommendations.

  • Provide professional and courteous customer service, maintaining strong client relationships on-site.

  • Work independently or collaboratively to complete work within agreed timescales.

  • Participate in out-of-hours support or emergency response as required.

 

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Lift Engineering (or equivalent such as J-Modules).

  • Demonstrable experience in lift repair, with strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability.

  • Confident working across multiple lift brands and control systems.

  • Skilled at reading technical drawings and wiring diagrams.

  • Strong understanding of EHSQ and compliance requirements within the lift industry.

  • Detail-oriented and solutions-focused, with a professional, safety-first approach.

  • Clear communicator who can engage effectively with clients and colleagues.

  • Competent in using digital service reporting tools and field management systems.

  • Full UK driving licence (essential).
